This installation opportunity was given to a group of us from Montserrat College of Art by the Peabody Essex Museum. It lived at 181 Essex Street from May 2024 till September 2025. The project was a collaboration between myself, Jude Arnott, Kirsten Andersen, Shane Halleran, and Relena LaBoy. The vision for this installation was all about having the two windows communicate with one another across space. We decided to contrast minimalist and maximalist spaces, and introduce an element of catastrophe. We were thinking about rising sea levels and the threat of climate change on our local environment. A few months before the installation was put up a seawall in Salem collapsed. Bringing about the thought of local destruction.
